Cannabis has been criminalized since the 1920’s, so research has been stunted, to say the least, but modern scientists are quickly catching up and learning new things, all the time. The science behind this plant can feel overwhelming but, luckily, the basics of cannabis don’t change – the benefits only evolve. Most people can get by with a baseline understanding of cannabinoids, the endocannabinoid system, and the two most studied and, most notorious, molecules: tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol.
Through education, research and political progression, cannabis has been legalised in many places across the globe, will New Zealand be next?
